MyVegas is a wonderful mobile and Facebook application that allows you to play non-gambling slot games for points which can be converted into a whole host of rewards to spend in Vegas and beyond. However, you are able to spend money to buy MyVegas chips if you’ve run out or want to top up your balance.

It’s worth buying MyVegas chips if there’s not much time until your vacation as it will help you get the final points you need for a reward. Alternatively, if you don’t have time to play the game, buying chips and placing high stakes is likely to give you more points for rewards with less effort.

Ultimately, when looking to buy MyVegas chips it’s about ensuring that you don’t spend more on the chips than you would on the reward.

What MyVegas Rewards You’d Like

It’s pointless spending any amount of money or dedicated amount of time on the game if you aren’t sure of the rewards you’d like to receive. In our case, we’d book our flights to Vegas, but not a hotel. I wanted to use our loyalty points for a complimentary stay.

So I headed over to the MyVegas app rewards section to work out roughly how many loyalty points I’d need in order to get the longest, and best stay we could during our trip.

I noted a couple of two-night complimentary stays currently available in the MyRewards section of MyVegas. I checked the promotional calendar to ensure my dates were available (these will either be within the terms on the page like above or on a link. In the case of the image above, I had to click the orange link stating ‘View Promotional Availability’.

I was looking for our two-night complimentary stay to be between the 15th to the 21st October and those dates were available according to the promotional calendar. Therefore my goal was to get to 95,000 loyalty points.

If I spent $5 and as a result felt as though it could get me to that 95,000 loyalty points, then I’d spend it. Simply because two nights at this hotel during my visit retails for a minimum of $289.08.

How Much Time You Have To Invest In The Game

If you work an office job, are a stay at home mom or have plenty of spare time to run the game in the background while getting on with everyday things then you’ll be able to complete more of the free MyVegas chip redemption methods more often, resulting in more MyVegas free chips.

Chips

If you don’t have much free time to spend on the game, or you’ve not got long until you leave for your Vegas trip then it might be a good idea to purchase some MyVegas chips which in turn will allow you to increase your bet amount on the games and convert the chips into loyalty points quicker.

Where You’re Staying During Your Vegas Trip

If you’ve already booked a stay at an MGM resort then you may want to consider saving your loyalty points for some Freeplay. There are often different Freeplay rewards for each of the MGM hotels.

In the case of my parents, they’d already booked to stay at the Bellagio. So we decided the best thing for them to save their loyalty points for was the $50 Freeplay in the hotel’s casino.

If they were to spend $5 to get them to 150,000 loyalty points in time for their trip, then I’d say that’s a great deal. As they’ve spent $5 to get $50.

Of course, I’d always recommend maximising and continuing to maximise the free MyVegas chip offers that refresh every day. Whether you’re purchasing chips or not. These are free chips, and essentially free rewards!

Remember, the ultimate goal is to spend as little amount of money possible and get as much free stuff for our Vegas trip as possible thanks to the MyVegas rewards.

What Are MyVegas Chips Worth

I said in the introduction of this post that MyVegas heavily promotes the option of purchasing MyVegas chips. So much so you might receive multiple pop-ups with multiple different offers.

So if you decide to part with your hard-earned cash in return for MyVegas chips that you’re planning on turning into MyVegas rewards then you’ll want to ensure you’re getting the very best deal.

Below are screenshots of the offers I had available to me at the exact same time when I was looking to purchase MyVegas chips. This included pop-up offers, looking to pop my champagne bottle that was 100% full or looking at the standard purchasing options.

Above you can see I was offered 12 million chips (along with some gold coins and MVP points) for $5. This works out at 2.4 million chips per $1.

If I chose to pop my champagne bottle I’d be getting just over 3 million chips for 3 dollars (along with 120 MVP points). This works out at just over 600,000 chips per $1. A lot less than the previous offer!

If I opted for the standard MyVegas chips purchase then I could get almost 13 million chips for $5 (along with a bonus spin, 250 loyalty and 200MVP). Much like the first offer this worked out at 2.4 million chips per $1.

Finally, I was offered this deal in a pop-up. Almost 96 million chips for $1. That’s a considerable amount more than I’d previously been offered, and an offer I was willing to take as a result.

As a result of purchasing the first deal, I’d unlocked ‘the second level’. Again with just a $1 spend I’d be getting 257 million chips. Again, this number of chips for $1 is insane considering my previous offers, so I decided to take them up on the offer.

Finally, after purchasing the second level offer I unlocked the third level. Almost 442 million chips for $1. Which of course, I took. In conclusion, I managed to get over 793 million MyVegas chips for just $3. On top of that, I got a number of loyalty points and MVP points which weren’t mentioned in the offer but applied to my account upon redemption.

While the offers are going to vary at the time of play. I’d recommend using this strategy to ensure you’re always getting the best value for money if you do decide that buying MyVegas chips is worth it in your case.

I’d also urge you to stay on the side of caution. I’d hate to see anyone spending anything near $100 on the game. Especially if they’ve zero experience in redeeming the rewards. For any further gambling help, we’d always recommend GamCare.

The games are designed as slots and can be addictive, just remember the reason we’re playing is to get amazing rewards at a heavily discounted rate.

The folks at MyVegas have finally found a way to create Apps for IOS (Apple) and Android Mobile Devices that allow us to take MyVegas on the road !!!

The Apps play MyVegas as a separate game. (Regardless of the Level you’ve reached on your computer, you will start the Mobile App at Level 1.)

But, when you link the App to your Facebook account… (which you HAVE to do, to redeem Loyalty Points) …your LP total will update, and track them all together.

NAVIGATING THE APP

On the HOME screen, there are five menu options: GAMES, REWARDS, MY STRIP, STORE and WALLET. (On two different screens.)

  • GAMES – takes you to the Slot Games.
  • REWARDS – takes you to the Rewards menu, to review what rewards are offered. You can sort them by MGM Resort Partners, by Loyalty Point Price, by Categories or by those Rewards that are being Featured.
  • MY STRIP – takes you to your MyVegas Strip map.
  • STORE – takes you to the MyVegas Store, where you can purchase Chips.
  • WALLET – shows you any Rewards you have redeemed.

From the HOME screen pull up menu on the bottom left, which is accessed by pulling up on the tab with the three blue stripes. (Shown in the image above.)

  • The picture is your Facebook picture… (which shows up once you link your FB account, which you should do in order to save any progress) …and shows your overall Challenge progress, and highest Challenge accomplished.
  • The HOUSE icon takes you to the HOME screen.
  • The Blue ‘V’ MyVegas Chip icon takes you to the REWARDS menu.
  • The WHEEL icon becomes active when the DAILY BONUS SPIN is available. (Every 24 hours.)
  • The GEAR icon opens a SETTINGS menu, where you control MUSIC, SOUND EFFECTS and VIBRATION options. This is also where you can LOG IN and OUT of Facebook (if different users are playing from the same mobile device) and where you can get MyVegas HELP.

BEGINNING PLAY

The first few Levels of the Mobile App are played in the Excalibur Slot Game. Once you advance to Level 6, you unlock the Mobile App Strip.

Myvegas Mobile Chips

Once the Strip is accessed, there is a pathway, (see image below,) with a number of challenge locations. Each location has three different tasks, denoted by Bronze, Silver and Gold Stars.

On the strip, you will also see your Facebook friends you have connected with (on the Facebook version of the game) … although you can’t interact with them on the Mobile App.

When you click on a challenge, you will see what the task consists of, and what the reward for completion of that task is. Sometimes you have a choice between different options… (Note the word “OR” in the image below)

…and sometimes there are multiple parts to the task… (Note the “+” in the image below)

You can leave tasks partially done, without losing your progress… (providing you have synced the App with your Facebook account) …as your Purple Chips ebb and flow. (As shown below, the Mirage Slot Game task is 15% complete.)

An important consideration is to look over ALL the Challenges available to you, as you start them. The reason for this is that SOME of the Challenges require you to play MAX BET (the largest wager available to you) and, of course, as you progress further, the amount you can ‘bet per line’ increases… so if you can get SOME of the BET MAX Challenges out of the way earlier, you may save yourself some Chips.

It goes without saying, that with collecting Chips being its own challenge, that managing the amount bet is very important. Different Slot Games have different minimum wagers, ranging from 60 Chips (Excalibur, New York New York & Mirage) to 150 Chips (Frontier Fortune, Luxor & Monster Maniacs) to 300 Chips (Pirate’s Cove).

When you complete all three tasks at each challenge location, you see a “CHALLENGE COMPLETED” sign, and can move onto the next challenge you choose.

When you are looking at the Strip map, you can tell your progress without clicking on the Challenges themselves, by seeing how many of the Stars are filled in, with Bronze, Silver and Gold Stars.

It should also be noted, that the Challenges do not have to be done in order. Although you do have to progress through the Bronze task, to get to Silver… and Silver to get to Gold task.

To start a Challenge, from the HOME SCREEN, you choose the MY STRIP option, which takes you to a map similar to the one shown in the image above. You can click on any unlocked Challenge, and advance your player icon to that spot on the map by clicking START. However, if there is more than one task option, you can choose the task you wish to take on, (select the GAME) by touching the Slot Game in the Challenge menu. (Otherwise it will default to the first task option.)

Tasks range from having a certain number of icons appear, collecting a certain number of Purple Chips, Loyalty Points or Chip wins. Sometimes the task may require a certain number of consecutive jackpot wins. There are a lot of different tasks, and you can track your progress in the current task, by clicking on the stars on the top, right corner of the screen. (Marked with the red arrow, in the below image.) When you click on the stars, it opens a pop-up screen which shows the task completion percentage on that particular Challenge.

It should be noted that unlike the Facebook game… (other than buying them) …the ONLY ways to accumulate Purple Chips are to click on the hourly BONUS Chips button… (Bottom right of the Home and Game screens) … and to collect the DAILY BONUS SPIN… (which has multipliers for collecting it on consecutive days, and for Game Levels achieved.)

To see the winning combinations for any of the Slot Games, the PAYS table is available to give further information about what constitutes a winning combination of icons, and how to play the Bonus Games.

As you progress through the MyVegas App, just like the Facebook version, you get access to an AUTO SPIN option, which allows you to spin multiple times automatically.

  • 10 x Spin – Level 6
  • 25 x Spin – Level 10
  • 50 x Spin – Level 35
  • 100 x Spin – Level 50
  • 200 x Spin – Level 100

You access the BET PER LINE controls as well as the AUTO SPIN, PAYS, and BET MAX buttons by pulling up the pull-up menu from the center bottom of the screen. (See image below.)

The Strip presents the challenges, which become available in phases. The phases are:

  • 1 – Carousel Lane
  • 2 – King’s Court
  • 3 – Outa’ My Way

The folks at MyVegas seem to be constantly “tweaking” and tinkering with the App. While I have been writing this, they have issued two updates. I’m sure they will continue to work to improve and make it better.
